Les Champions school platform
A school management system for Complexe Scolaire Scientifique Les Champions.
The problem
The school needed one place to run admissions, grades and report cards alongside its shop, canteen and library, with a view for parents.
What I built
- Admissions with application campaigns
- Academics: classes, students, teachers, timetables, grades and coefficients, report cards, attendance, discipline, transfers and class councils
- Finances for the shop, library, camp and canteen
- School management: strategy, SWOT, quality, staff and improvement plans, with reports
- A parent portal, document storage and transactional email
Engineering decisions
One system for the whole school
Admissions, academics and finances share one database and one set of roles, so a student's record follows them from application to report card.
Documents and retention
Report cards and documents are stored in Cloudflare R2 with naming and size limits, and a scheduled job enforces data retention.
Tested and deployed continuously
Tests and CI run on every change, and the app deploys on Vercel.
Stack
What I learned
A school's system has to cover the whole year, from admission to the class council, so the data model came first. The interface is in French for the staff, and the code stays private as the client's.
