About Me

Breye Foka Lagloire

I'm a Computer Science student at the University of Kigali and a software engineer at SevenX. Most days that means full-stack web and mobile work, with AI/ML and IoT projects filling in around it. The part I actually enjoy isn't writing the code — it's understanding a problem well enough that the code becomes obvious. And I'd rather ship something that still makes sense six months later than something clever I can't explain. Long term, I want to build for my own community first. Rwanda has no shortage of problems software can genuinely help with, and that's the work I want my name on.

The short version

Computer Science at the University of Kigali, class of 2027, while working as a software engineer at SevenX.
Full-stack web and mobile, plus ML models and IoT builds whenever I get the chance.
Trying to point all of it at problems worth solving close to home.

School

Degree: BSc in Computer Science, University of Kigali, Rwanda.
Graduating: 2027.
What I focus on: Software engineering, the maths underneath AI/ML, and learning to think in systems instead of isolated files.
What it's actually given me: Mostly the theory behind things I'd been doing by feel — and a much better sense of when my instincts are wrong.

What I build with

Languages: TypeScript, Python, and C++.
Right now: Full-stack web apps, mobile apps, and AI/ML projects.
Strongest at: Full-stack web and mobile. AI/ML and IoT after that.
Built so far: Bachelier, a self-driving Arduino rover, a hand-gesture recogniser, and a fake-news detector.

How I work

My loop: Understand the problem, sketch the options, build it, test it, fix what the tests found, then ship it and keep watching.
Teams I do well in: Ones where people say what they actually think and share what they know.
Where I don't cut corners: Tests, and writing code the next person can read without asking me.

Why I do this

What I believe: Software is one of the few levers small enough for one person to pull and big enough to matter.
Why it's personal: I'm from a developing country. The problems I most want to solve are the ones I grew up around.
Where I'm headed: Projects with real social reach, on teams building things that haven't been built before.
